Provenance has become a really big issue with food in recent years, but Ferguson’s have always provided the very best meats from known suppliers – your guarantee of quality.
Our produce is fresh, local and traceable. Walter Dandie & Sons, a family run beef & arable farm, supply us with home bred or local market cattle. The cattle are fed on GM free home grown grass, silage, baley & grain. They are grazed during summer months and housed in cattle courts, which are bedded down with straw, in winter.
We have two main pig suppliers, direct from the farm – Robert Powell, Easter Greenhill Farm & Robertsons of Ardrossan. We only buy gilt (female) pigs, ensuring the quality and consistency required in making our bacon, sausages & pork products.
From Caledonian Marts. This farmers co-op, established in 1963, supplies farm assured lamb & beef. Our lamb is traceable from the following farm assured numbers – Faskine 10237, Moorfield 1843, East Ochtermuthill 4262, Learielaw 6636, Hillcroft 7350 & South Medrox 7594
We love sausages! We manufacture a vast variety daily in our shop. We are 4th generation family of butchers, with many old, traditional recipes. We believe if you put good produce in, you get a good product out. This is reflected in the many awards, medals and championships we have won.
Our extra lean products are specially selected, to allow variety for the customer. all products are extra lean, made fresh daily, ideal for freezing, less fat and high in protein. Healthy eating option for all the family.
Freshness is key to the success of our bakery. The smell of pies and pastry straight out of the oven is a great draw for our customers. Great smells, great freshness. “hot potato scones, straight out of the bag” – can’t beat it!!!
